Roomspot offers you all the space you need

About us

Roomspot makes your search for your own place a lot easier! You will find a complete and reliable overview of available rooms, studios and apartments in Enschede, Hengelo and the surrounding area. Every day, Housing Association De Veste and Stichting Jongeren Huisvesting Twente (SJHT) place new offers online. Other reliable providers may be added in the future.

Co-operation of different parties

In 2017, the Municipality of Enschede, University of Twente, Saxion Hogeschool, Housing Foundation De Veste and Stichting Jongeren Huisvesting Twente joined forces. They wanted to make the search for housing in Enschede and the surrounding area easier. This is how Roomspot was created, the online platform where (international) students and young people can find their new home.

About SJHT

SJHT is a housing association for students and young people aged between 18 and 30 years old, who have minimum income. We are specialists in the rental of affordable and high-quality housing in the centres of Enschede and Hengelo. With us, you are at the right place if you are looking for a room in a student house or a place for yourself such as a studio or an apartment with separate bedroom. Rooms are allocated by means of co-optation, studios and apartments based on registration history.

About De Veste

The De Veste Housing Association rents homes to people who are affiliated full-time with an academic university or a university of applied sciences. A condition for renting properties from De Veste is that you register with the municipality at the address of the rental property and that your income does not exceed the legally determined limit.

Our rooms are always suitable for one person and are allocated by means of co-optation. The student houses differ in size. Large houses have multiple bathrooms and toilets. The studios and apartments are allocated by drawing lots and are usually suitable for one or two persons. The rooms, studios and apartments of Housing Association De Veste are mainly located on campus. In addition, De Veste offers furnished rooms. These can only be found in the special offer for non-EEA students of the UT.

University of Twente

The University of Twente (UT) coordinates supply and demand through Roomspot. UT helps NON-EEA students, staff members, PhD researchers and guests finding housing. Although UT does its utmost to inform you about possible accommodations, there is a housing shortage at the moment. As a result, students all over the Netherlands are having trouble finding housing. UT advises you to arrange housing before the start of your studies. Please be aware that UT itself is not able to provide you with housing if you do decide to start your studies without having a place to live in Enschede or Hengelo.
