Besides rent, gas, water, electricity and service costs, tenants also pay local taxes. This includes tax for garbage collection, water treatment and using the sewer. Each town determines for itself how high the taxes are. The landlord may pay this for you and deduct it from the service costs. You may also have to pay this directly to the council.
