Student finance

What is student finance?
In the Netherlands there is a governmental institution called DUO. They provide student finance. Student finance consists of four components: a regular loan, a student travel product, a supplementary grant and a tuition fee loan. If you are enrolled in university, higher professional education, or secondary vocational education, you can apply for student finance. You must be a Dutch national or have the same rights. This means non-Dutch can also apply for student finance. Even if you fail to meet the nationality criteria for student finance, you may still qualify for a tuition fee loan.

How do I know whether I am eligible?
On the DUO website they explain whether you qualify for student finance depending on your age, course and nationality or residency status. They explain how you can apply for student finance with your DigiD. And if you do not qualify for student finance, you may still be eligible for other regulations.
